Russia's foreign ministry has said that it has identified two of its citizens kidnapped last month in Sudan, claiming that the pair remain unhurt.
However, Moscow has declined to release their names.
The pair were employees of UTAir Aviation and disappeared on 29 Jan. in the Darfur region, Tuesday’s statement said.
Both were working for the Russian company under contract for the United Nations and African Union Mission in Darfur, UNAMID, when they were captured by an "unknown group of armed men."
The foreign ministry added that it is working with the U.N. and the Sudanese authorities for the “early and safe release” of the Russian citizens.
