A joint military project between Sudan and Saudi Arabia has kicked off in the Red Sea towards, “combating smuggling and boosting security and stability at the sea and the coastal area,” reported Sudan News Agency.

According to spokesman of the Armed Forces, Col. Al-Sawarmi Khalid Saad the project is to, “To consolidate the cooperation between the Sudanese and Saudi naval forces for implementing joint tasks in the future,” reported SUNA.

The Sudanese Armed Forces and Naval Corps had also received two Saudi military ships and special and naval infantry forces.
