Tunisia detains 2nd Moroccan for Bardo attack

World Bulletin / News Desk

Tunisian security forces have detained a Moroccan national for alleged involvement in a March attack on a museum in Tunis that left 24 people dead.

"Security forces have detained a Moroccan national involved in the Bardo [Museum] events," Interior Ministry spokesman Mohamed Ali told.

He said the Moroccan suspect had been detained at the Ras Ajdir crossing on the Libyan border.

Another Moroccan national was detained by the Italian authorities earlier this month based on an arrest warrant issued by Tunisia.

In March, at least 24 people, including 21 foreign tourists, were killed in an attack on Tunis' Bardo Museum.

The Tunisian authorities have since issued arrest warrants for five individuals suspected of involvement in the attack.
