Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid on Wednesday met Moroccan counterpart Abdelilah Benkirane during an official visit to Rabat.

The two men reportedly discussed various aspects of Morocco-Tunisia relations, along with the ongoing fight against terrorism in the region.

At a press conference held following their meeting, Essid raised concerns about Libya’s ongoing political crisis, stressing Tunisia’s opposition to any foreign intervention in the troubled North African country.

"Any intervention in Libya from outside would be wrong," he said.

Essid also denied recent assertions from some quarters that Tunisia was pursuing an anti-Libya policy.

"Tunisia’s approach is very clear," he asserted. "Tunisia is not intervening to destroy Libya… [Tunisia wants] the country to resolve its crisis."

"Tunisia is currently home to some 400,000 Libyans and its border remains open to them," he added.
