Tunisia has ordered a partial closure of border with Libya during the upcoming presidential election.

In a Wednesday statement, the Prime Minister's office said that the Ras Ajdir and Zayba crossings with Libya from November 20 through 23.

The statement, however, said that diplomatic mission, emergency cases and departing Libyans will be allowed to cross the border during the same period.

Libya has been dogged by political instability since the 2011 ouster and death of long-ruling strongman Muammar Gaddafi.

Millions of Tunisians are expected to head to polling stations across their country on November 23 to select a new president for their country, the first to be elected after a popular uprising ended the long rule of ex-president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in 2011.

Candidates have started campaigning since on November 2. Presidential campaigns are expected to last until November 21.
