The UN Security Council condemns the attack on a humanitarian convoy from the UAE in Mogadishu, perpetrated by Al-Shabaab, resulting in a number of casualties

According to th Council President Ramlan Bin Ibrahim, the UNSC members condemn the attack by Al Shabaab against UAE's humanitarian convoy in Mogadishu. The Council also expressed their deep condolences and sympathy to the victims' famalies and to the people and governments of UAE and Somalia.

The Security Council restated its high-level support for actors and incentives to restore as well as maintain peace and stability in Somalia. This included United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

The UNSC members emphasized that everyone anyhow related to the terror acts must be brought to justice and urged all states to fight terrorism in accordance with their responsibilities under the Charter of the United Nations.

The Council members also repeatedly stated that not a single act of terrorism, such as this one, will stop them from working on achieving their goal of peace in Somalia.
