The UN head condemned in the strongest terms the killing of a Pakistani peacekeeper in the attack.

A MONUSCO Peacekeeping force was killed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

According to information released by the UN, a military convoy in DRC was ambushed by a group.

A Pakistani Peacekeeper lost his life and MONUSCO (United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) launched an investigation regarding the issue.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned the attack and called on the DRC government to "bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice".

Ban underscored that the killing of peacekeepers was a war crime that fell under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, and he offered his sincerest condolences and sympathy to the family of the victim, and to the government of Pakistan.
