Irina Bokova, the Director General of UNESCO, has stated, they will prepare an action plan for rebuilding of mausoleums which were destroyed by armed groups in Malian city of Timbuktu.
Bokova said that Timbuktu is in the list of UNESCO's cultural heritage list and once the security was completely maintained in the Timbuktu city, UNESCO will send experts to Mali to assess the damage.
Bokova warned, "If the clashing sides in Mali do not protect the national history and cultural heritage, than they can not come to an agreement."
UNESCO experts estimated, the re-building of the 11 mausoleums would cost $4 million to $5 million.
