Ethiopian opposition leader Andargachew Tsegie has been extradited to Ethiopia by Yemeni authorities, the Ginbot 7 opposition movement said in a statement on Saturday.

Tsegie, second-in-command of Ginbot 7 opposition movement, was arrested last month at Sanaa international airport while on his way to Eritrea.

Tsige was sentenced to death in absentia for an alleged plot to overthrow the Ethiopian government.

The Ethiopian government, however, did not confirm the extradition of the opposition leader.

Tsige has been serving as the Secretary General of the organization since it was founded in 2008.
