An active on-site shooter has been reported at Fort Lee Army base in Virgina, forcing it into lockdown and leading the base to enact active shooter protocols.
“Active shooter incident reported at CASCOM HQ, Bldg. 5020. All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately. Post on lockdown,” the Army base tweeted.
Operations Officer Steven Baker at Fort Lee was able to confirm the situation to The Wire via phone today just after 9:30 a.m. "This incident is developing. We don't have any more information," said Baker.
According to The Wire, at 9:58 a.m an "all clear" signal was issued, with police vehicles arriving on the scene minutes later.
The Wire also spoke with Officer Amy Perry who was unable to disclose further information, however, she did note that those in the affected building have "fully enacted the active shooter protocol."
