U.S. President Barack Obama thanked President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) over his message congratulating the 235th anniversary of the independence of the United States.

TRNC Presidential Press Office released a statement and said U.S. President Obama stated that democracy and freedom ideals on which the U.S. was founded were remembered in the Independence Day.

U.S. President said the ideals in question were still valid in fight against the challenges of today's world, and noted that he hoped all humanity would take the advantage of those ideals one day.
