The White House on Wednesday accused Israel of presenting inaccurate information about Washington's position on nuclear negotiations with Iran, a White House spokesman said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed last weekend that Israel is being kept in the dark about details of the talks.
"That obviously is false,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in a press briefing on Wednesday, and added that the U.S. continues to share information with Israel in high level meetings.
Earnest said that Israel continues “to practice cherry-picking specific pieces of information and using them out of context to distort the negotiating position of the United States."
"There's no question that some of the things that the Israelis have said in characterizing our negotiating position have not been accurate," Earnest said.
Separately, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki admitted that the U.S. does not share "everything" with Israel regarding nuclear negations with Iran.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Psaki said: “It is not new, not everything you're hearing from the Israeli government is an accurate reflection of the details of the talks."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to address the U.S. Congress next month and is expected to press for increased sanctions against Iran.
