About 17,000 from mostly North America, and Asia, Europe and Africa have arrived Canada for one of the largest organisation among Muslims who will hold "Revivng the Islamic Spirit" conferences in Toronto.
The 8th annual conference which started after 11 September attacks bills itself as a way for young Muslims to build ties within their faith and across cultural lines.
The singer Yusuf Islam is among the participants.

The program was launched with Qoran recital. Then Imam Juhari Abdul-Malik make the opening speech and said that "Inshallah (If God pleases) you percieve that you understand the Qoran in better way when you return to home after these three-days conferences.) Qoran can't be understood but if you live it."
In the series of conferenses, Muslims plan to discuss many world issues from environment to security.
""Our planet is currently sending out an SOS. The waves of pollution and environmental degradation are washing over its bow. The gathering storms of warfare and strife are threatening its course," organizers said on website.
"It has been hijacked by the pirates of racism and xenophobia. Massive icebergs of disease, hunger, and economic marginalization litter the sea all around it," they said.

Organizers say it's Islam's first Canadian appearance in nearly 10 years.
The conference will also feature performances from a member of a Muslim hip-hop group and the comedy troupe "Allah Made Me Funny."
