A crowded bus veered off a mountainous road in western Nepal on Monday, killing at least 19 people, police said.
The bus rolled off the road near Deurali village, about 125 miles west of the capital, Katmandu, said police official Bharat Chetri.
About 30 people were injured, including 20 who were hospitalized in critical condition.
The bus was overcrowded and the rural mountain road on which it was traveling was slippery after two days of rain. It rolled about 650 feet from the road before coming to a halt at the bottom of the mountain.
Accidents in Nepal are mostly blamed on poorly maintained vehicles, bad roads condition and lack of traffic rules. Most of the roads in the mountainous areas are narrow, have no guard rails or any other protection.
