Desra Percaya told Kyodo News that four women and one man, ranging in age between 20 to 50 years old, entered the embassy compound by jumping over the fence at 3:30 p.m.

"We haven't been able to confirm their nationalities yet because they couldn't speak English or Vietnamese although they claimed to be North Koreans," Percaya said.

"They are carrying a poster saying, 'We want to go to a free country,'" he added.

The embassy has been coordinating with Jakarta and local authorities to seek a Korean interpreter to confirm their claim and their motive, Percaya said.
