Nine Turkish soldiers were killed in a landmine explosion in the eastern Turkish province of Erzincan, military sources said on Monday.
Erzincan Governor Ali Gungor told AA that a land mine exploded while a military vehicle was passing by near Kemah town of Erzincan, killing eight soldiers and injuring three others.
Wounded soldiers were hospitalized in Erzincan.
No further details were immediately available.
Kurdish guerrillas frequently use landmines in their conflict with the Turkish state.
Officials also said that security forces killed a terrorist, who was trying to enter Special Forces building in the southern province of Hatay.
