Abbas: Int'l conference to be held in November
An international conference to discuss the stalled Israeli-Palestinian process is likely tobe held in November, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said instatements published Sunday.

The Palestinian National Authority and Israel have recently resumed dialogue and "will try to reinforce as much (solutions) aspossible ahead of the international conference," Abbas added.

On July 16, U.S. President George W. Bush proposed to hold an international conference that will group Israel, the Palestinians and some neighboring Arab states to help resume the stalled Middle East "peace" talks.

Abbas said that the U.S.-sponsored meeting could help pushing the frozen negotiations on final status settlement, including the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel in line with U.S. President George W. Bush's vision.

"The world should understand that things will be more difficult and more complicated if the peace process is not resumed within the coming months," Abbas claimed during a meeting with Palestinian intellectuals.
