Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that African continent, with its natural resources, agricultural fields, rich water and mineral resources, young population and strategic location, was very attractive especially for development projects.
Ihsanoglu spoke at the inauguration of "Turkish-African Business Forum", an event of Turkey-Africa Cooperation Summit, hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) in Istanbul on Monday.
Ihsanoglu said that the world faced with new realities due to increase in raw material and energy prices and decrease in resources, adding that it required new configurations in economic order. He said that everybody should look at Africa with a long-term perspective within that scope.
Ihsanoglu said that African continent was attractive both for food security and industrial production.
He said that investments in tourism area in Africa should be supported, adding that private sector should focus on tourism projects in Africa.
