AK party deputy resigns from party after sending discipline council
Feyzi Isbasaran, an MP from Elazig province, resigned from the ruling AK Party.
Feyzi Isbasaran, an MP from Elazig province, resigned from the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party on Saturday.
Isbasaran announced his resignation at a press conference at the Parliament.
Isbasaran asserted that he resigned because AK Party executives wanted to silence him.
He was sent to discipline counil of the party over his outspoken remarks against Turkish police.
The distribution of seats at Parliament after Isbasaran's resignation is as follows:
Justice & Development (AK) Party: 337
Republican People's Party (CHP): 97
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): 69
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP): 20
Democratic Left Party (DSP): 8
Democrat Party (DP): 1
Turkey Party: 1
