AK Party plans to hold an early election along with local elections if it can not compromise with opposition parties regarding amendment of the constitutional law, Turkish media said.
According to the scenario in Ankara, "two elections may be held at the same time on June 29th," Turkish daily Sabah reported.
A figure in AK Party told paper, in order to hold a referendum, it is not necessary to have the votes of 330 deputies: "then two elections can be held at the same time."
The paper said "AK Party started to form their Plan B in case they can not reach an agreement with CHP and MHP on the constitutional law amendment to make banning political parties harder. An early election decision will be made on June 29th if CHP and MHP do not want to compromise on the amendment. AK Party will give a week to the parties for making their decisions. B plan will be applied if they do not agree on the amendment. AK Party management thinks of merging the general elections with the local elections."
