Armenian soldiers violated the ceasefire, killing three Azerbaijani soldiers and wounding one.

Armenian forces opened fire near Tap Qaraqoyunlu village of Goranboy city.

The Azeri defence ministry said three Azeri soldiers had died in clashes, which it said were initiated by Armenian forces.

"There were skirmishes today on the line and as a result three Azeri soldiers died and one was injured. Losses on the Armenian side were not less than ours," spokesman Eldar Sabiroglu said.

Armenian forces denied the claim.

Clashes that started between Azerbaijan and Armenia turned to a war after both the countries declared independence but the sides signed a ceasefire agreement in Bishkek in 1994.

Armenia still occupies one fifth on Azerbaijani land.

Back in 2009, 8 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed by Armenians.

In September, five Armenian soldiers were killed in a clash in the front line.
