Blast at AU hospital in Somalia kills at least one

An explosion at an African Union (AU) clinic near Mogadishu's airport killed at least one person on Monday, an AU spokesman said.
"I have confirmed one dead. I do not know whether it is one of our soldiers or a Somali. The explosion took place when the OPD clinic was being closed," spokesman Barigye Ba-hoku said.
The hospital run by the AU mission AMISOM, made up of troops from Uganda and Burundi, is within its main Halane base behind Mogadishu's airport.
The hospital also treats Somalis wounded in the almost daily violence in the capital.
Ba-hoku said he was not sure whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or a mortar.
Uganda and Burundi both have some 2,500 peacekeepers in Mogadishu with the AMISOM force.
The fighting in Somalia has killed 19,000 civilians since the start of 2007 and driven a further 1.5 million from their homes, triggering one of the world's worst humanitarian emergencies.
