Bosnian Serb acquitted of war crimes charges
A Sarajevo court Tuesday returned a not guilty vedict on Bosnian Serb Zoran Jankovic, on trial for crimes against humanity, and acquitted him on all counts.

Jankovic was charged with crimes committed during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The indictment alleged that, as a member of Bosnian Serb army, he was involved in execution of a group of Bosnian Muslims that Bosnian Serb troops captured in April 1992 near the eastern town of Zvornik.

Jankovic's unit then allegedly burned the bodies of the victims in order to conceal evidence of the crime.

Jankovic was detained in May last year in the northern Bosnian Serb town of Bijeljina, where he was living.
