Brazil's veteran defender Roberto Carlos left Turkey on Saturday after parting ways with Fenerbahce soccer team.
"I am feeling two things at the same time today. I am sorry for leaving Fenerbahce and I am very happy that I will continue playing soccer in my own country. A new era starts for me," Carlos said before his departure from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport.
Carlos played his last game with Fenerbahce on Thursday night, helping his team to win a 1-0 victory over Moldova's Sheriff in UEFA Europa League Group (H) match in Istanbul.
Team mates gave Carlos a goodbye shower after the match as Fenerbahce fans chanted "I love you Carlos," giving him a standing ovation.
Carlos, 36, signed for Fenerbahce from Real Madrid in 2007. He recently revealed that he penned a two-year deal with Corinthians of Sao Paulo.
Carlos scored 10 goals in 101 matches he played for Fenerbahce.
