The Central Bank of Turkey said on Thursday that Turkey's current (accounts) deficit was down in 2009.

Turkey's current deficit was down 67 percent in 2009 over 2008, and dropped from 41.9 to 13.8 billion USD.

However, the current deficit was up 4.5 percent in December 2009 over December 2008, and reached to 3.78 from 3.217 billion USD.3

Turkey's tourism revenues were down 3.2 percent to 21.2 billion USD, but its tourism expenditures were up 18.3 percent to 4.1 billion USD in 2009 over 2008.

Turkey's net tourism revenues were down 7.3 percent to 17.1 billion USD in the mentioned period.

Net investments in Turkey was down 58.4 percent to 7.5 billion USD from 18.2 billion USD in 2009.

Also, net capital inflow was down 61.7 percent to 6.2 billion USD in 2009.
