The agency quoted military sources as saying a group of men attacked the vehicle wounding five Russian soldiers.

In another inicident, an explosive device blew up in the capital wounding one Russian soldier.

Russian authorities are pursuing investigations to identify and locate the culprits of the recent attacks.

Security in Chechnya has remained largely fragile since the early 90s, when natives waged an armed uprising against the Russian authorities.

The conflict for control of the republic has killed tens of thousands of people and some 10,000 Russian troops.
