Turkish State Minister Nimet Cubukcu said on Saturday women's taking active role in the decision-making mechanisms would also contribute to the world peace.

Taking the floor in a session of "the 4th International Women's Convention in Local Administrations" in Ankara, Cubukcu said, "negative prejudices and traditions make negative impacts on women's taking part in politics."

Cubukcu said, "we are exerting great efforts to lift invisible walls. There is need for a mentality change. The number of women in local administrations should be increased."
