Czech President Vaclav Klaus will appoint non-partisan Jan Fischer as the country's new prime minister on Thursday, the presidential office said on Wednesday.
Fischer is expected to pick ministers in the following days, take over from outgoing Premier Mirek Topolanek on May 9 and lead the country to an early election planned for October.
