Davos says to accept panel moderators by tight selection after Erdogan

A series of measures have been taken after the tension in a session that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended on Thursday within the scope of the World Economic Forum (WEF) meetings in Davos, Switzerland.

Sources told A.A on Friday that moderators in the further sessions, which would be attended especially by heads of state & government, would be chosen after a tight selection.

WEF officials said that panel moderators would be comprised of experts from now on.

Meanwhile, the number of bodyguards, who were assigned by WEF for Turkish officials attending the meetings, was increased significantly.

Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek, who is currently in Davos, said regarding the tension that they were proud of the attitude of Prime Minister Erdogan.

In a panel discussion on Gaza on Thursday evening, Erdogan walked off stage after tension rose between him and Israeli President Shimon Peres. Erdogan declared to the Israeli president, "volume of your voice is loudly and I know it is because of a psychology of guilt. When it comes to killing, you know very well how to kill. I know very well how you hit and killed children at the beaches." Later in the night, Peres telephoned and apologized to Erdogan.
