Transportation minister of the Netherlands said on Wednesday that the reason of the plane crash at Amsterdam's main airport was not known yet.
The Turkish Airlines plane with flight number 1951 crashed while attempting to land at the Schiphol Airport on Wednesday.
Dutch officials confirmed that 9 people were killed in the accident.
Speaking to Turkish NTV Channel, Dutch Transportation Minister Camiel Eurlings said that the reason of the accident was not clear yet and statements alleging that "one of the engines detached from the plane prior to the crash" were all speculations.
Eurlings said the reason of the crash would be clear after the black box of the plane was examined by experts.
Noting that Dutch officials did their best to prevent the increase in the number of casualties, Eurlings said that the names of those who lost their lives at the accident would be made public later today.
