Egyptian police detained 10 members of the opposition Muslim Brotherhood movement in the Nile Delta on Saturday, police and Brotherhood sources said.
Police took the men from their homes in Dakahlia province northeast of Cairo in raids around dawn and took away leaflets published by the Brotherhood, they said.
The Egyptian government calls the Brotherhood an outlawed group but members hold a fifth of the seats in parliament. The Islamist organisation operates openly within limits, although police often detain members for long periods without charges.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said he had no information on the detentions.
