Speaking to supporters of his Justice & Development (AK) Party and citizens at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Erdogan said, "I believe that Turkey progresses with determination to the future on the way of being above the contemporary civilizations. This struggle has two dimensions, that are, democracy and economy," Erdogan said.
"Democracy is not an easy struggle. The more you progress in fight for democracy, the more you are successful in economy and social state," Erdogan remarked.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "you can not catch advanced economy unless you catch advanced democracy. If democracy weakens, economy suffers loss."
