Ex-DTP members no more Turkish MPs

Ahmet Turk and Aysel Tugluk, who joined Peace and Freedom Party (BDP) as lawmakers after their party Democratic Society Party (DTP) was banned by Turkey's top court, were officially expelled from the parliament after detailed court ruling regarding the closure of DTP was published in the Official Gazette on Thursday.

The ruling bars them and 35 other party members from joining any political party for five years.

On December 11, the Constitutional Court banned DTP on charges of ties to PKK.

The court ruled that DTP had become a focal point of activities against state's unity with its actions and ties to the terrorist organization.
