Four arested under Ergenekon Probe

An alleged criminal network that came to be known as "Ergenekon" was revealed after police seized hand grenades, TNT explosives and fuses in a shanty house in Istanbul on June 12th, 2007.

Four arested under Ergenekon Probe

Ankara Chamber of Trade Chairman Sinan Aygun, retired colonel Hasan Atilla Ugur, Birol Basaran and Ibrahim Ozcan were arrested under the Ergenekon probe early on Saturday.

Retired Admiral Ilker Guven, Ankara representative of Cumhuriyet newspaper Mustafa Balbay, Osman Gurbuz, Durmus Ali Ozoglu, Kemal Aydin and Neriman Aydin who were detained within the scope of the investigation were sent to the court. Retired Gen. Hursit Tolon were brought to the court house.

Prof. Dr. Ercument Ovali was released by the court pending trial. Erol Mutercimler and Adnan Turkkan who were detained under the probe was also released on Saturday.
