Four Russian policemen wounded in Ingushetia blast

Four policemen were wounded in a blast on Monday in Nazran, capital of Ingushetia republic, news agencies reported.

An unknown explosive device went off near a bank in downtown Nazran at 11 a.m. Moscow Time (0800 GMT), Interfax and Itar-Tass reported, quoting local law enforcement sources.

"Four people in a Mercedes vehicle were seriously wounded when the blast occurred," one source said.

Ingushetia borders the war-scarred Caucasus republic of Chechnya. Attacks targeting security forces and officials are common in the region.
