Turkey's Galatasaray demand 15 million Euro for their young captain Arda Turan, making him the most expensive football player in Turkey.

Galatasaray's old rival Fenerbahce offered to pay a transfer fee of 15 million Euro for the 22-year-old midfielder before the beginning of Turkcell Super League this year, but Istanbul lions turned down Fenerbahce.

Galatasaray's new player Brazilian midfielder Elano Blumer, who joined the team from Manchester City, and Fenerbahce's Spanish striker Daniel Guiza, signed from Mallorca in 2008 followed Arda Turan with 12.5 million Euro transfer fees.

The value of Turkcell Super League (Turkish first division) reached 762.9 million Euro this season. Fenerbahce have become the most valuable team of the league with a squad worth around 118.8 million Euro. Galatasaray are ranked the second with a squad worth 117.9 million Euro, while Besiktas the third with 100.4 million Euro.

Meanwhile, a study showed that Turkish first division brings together 153 foreign football players from 51 countries. 30 Brazilian nationals are playing in Turkey which makes Brazil the biggest footballer exporter to Turkey. Germany has 11 players in Turkey while Argentina and Cameroon have 9 players each.
