Five rocket fired from Palestine into Israel and one of them exploded near a school on Saturday without injuries, according to Israel's military.

Authorities said the school was empty for the weekend.

Israel has launched air strikes into Gaza after fired rockets.

Hamas and Israel declared separate ceasefires on Jan. 18 but acts of Israeli air attacks and Palestinian responses have continued.

Egypt has been trying to broker a long-term truce between Israel and Hamas to take the place of a shaky Jan. 18 ceasefire that ended a 22-day Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip. There have been almost daily exchanges of fire since then.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Saturday's rocket fire.

Israel launched on Dec. 27 a massive offensive in Gaza, killing more than 1300 Palestinians, a third of them children, and wounded at least 5300.
