A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck southern Israel on Saturday, causing no injuries, the Israeli military said.

Israel usually responds to such rocket fire without injuries by attacking heavily Gaza.

Israeli 22-day offensive killed more than 1,300 Palestinians, a third of them children, and wounded at least 5300 according to a Gaza human rights group and Health ministry. Thirteen Israelis -- 10 soldiers and three civilians hit by Hamas rockets -- were killed.

Israel also targeted hospitals, schools, mosques and public areas and destroyed Gaza's infrastructure system, lefting Palestinians without electricity, water and gas.
