Gaza's humanity drama can't continue anymore: Turkey
Turkish parliament speaker spoke at the inauguration of the extraordinary meeting of the executive board of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Istanbul.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan said on Wednesday that a humanity drama, which hurt consciences, was happening in Gaza, and this drama could not continue anymore.
Speaking at the inauguration of the extraordinary meeting of the executive board of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Istanbul, Toptan said that the executive board convened to discuss the tragedy in Gaza Strip and announce their attitude against this tragedy to the whole world.
Toptan said that the condition of Palestinians --which had already been bad-- became worse in Gaza Strip which had been under the attacks of Israel since December 27, 2008.
He said that the infrastructure, which was already harmed badly due to previous Israeli attacks, had nearly damaged now, and water and electricity network almost collapsed, and hospitals could not be efficient for the injured people.
Toptan said that thousands of Palestinians lost their houses due to Israeli attacks, and many civilians including women and children were killed.
He noted that unfortunately, solution initiatives of several international organizations and countries could not yield any permanent results.
