Govt says to call Turkish NGOs abroad for meeting

Turkish State Minister Faruk Celik said governance and administrative approaches which were not service oriented and not sensitive to the needs of their citizens were outdated.

Celik who addressed a meeting hosted by the Union of European Turkish Democrats on Sunday said a new institution, named Turks Abroad and Relative Communities would be formed under his auspices which would deal with problems of Turkish citizens living abroad.

"The Turkish citizens living abroad have errands with 10 ministries and 30 related institutions. This new institution will deal with these. They won't have to run between these institutions anymore," said Celik.

Celik said Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan would host a working lunch for the Turkish civil organizations abroad, underlining the importance of Turks living abroad for Turkey.
