Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that Turkey strongly supported Cyprus talks as well as President Mehmet Ali Talat who represented Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in the talks.

Holding a joint press conference with Lebanon's President Michel Sulayman in Ankara, Gul said regarding the elections in TRNC that TRNC had its democracy functioned strongly, and people made their decisions without being under the influence of anybody.

Gul said that Turkey always stressed that there were two separate realities in the island, adding that Turkish Cypriots made their own choices in the elections.
