Turkey's education board will nominate three candidate presidents for several universities in July.
The Turkish Higher Education Board (YOK) will have a general assembly meeting on July 21st-22nd and choose three candidate presidents for 21 universities, executives of the board said on Tuesday.
The list of candidates will be presented to President Abdullah Gul, and the president will appoint one of the three candidates as the new presidents of 21 universities.
A total of 126 new presidents will be designated by August.
Before holding a general assembly meeting, the YOK will start interviewing the candidates. The interviews will begin on Wednesday and end on July 9th.
The universities that will have new presidents are Akdeniz (Antalya), Ankara (Ankara), Ataturk (Erzurum), Bogazici (Istanbul), Cumhuriyet (Sivas), Cukurova (Adana), Dicle (Diyarbakir), Dokuz Eylul (Izmir), Ege (Izmir), Erciyes (Kayseri), Firat (Elazig), Gazi (Ankara), Gaziantep (Gaziantep), Inonu (Malatya), Istanbul Teknik (Istanbul), Karadeniz Teknik (Trabzon), Ondokuz Mayis (Samsun), Orta Dogu Teknik (Ankara), Trakya (Edirne), Uludag (Bursa) and Yildiz Teknik (Istanbul).
