Gül to take into consideration every party's views
"If I am elected the president, I will have to take into consideration views and opinions of a rooted political party like CHP (Republican People's Party)," presidential candidate Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday.

"I have told them how I will behave in case I am elected the president," Gul told reporters after he pays a courtesy visit to Salim Uslu, the Chairman of the Moral Rights Workers Union (Hak-Is).

Gul noted, "the basic principles of the Constitution are obvious. Turkey is a democratic, secular, social state of law. Also, the Constitution charges the state to protect rights of workers, raise their welfare and rehabilitate working conditions. I will closely deal with these issues if I am elected the president. Naturally, the governments will do what is necessary regarding these issues."

CHP'S REMARKS

On the other hand, Gul said, "claims made about me are not accurate," when commenting on the remarks of the CHP that "Gul is against the Republic".

"I was the prime minister five years ago, when Turkey was experiencing its most difficult days. Then, I was the foreign minister in the most critical days and war time (war in Iraq). I was also the head of the Supreme Board of Anti-Terror. I have always defended Turkey's national interests, and dealt with everything inside and outside, I am a very transparent person. I have been in politics since 1991, and everybody knows everything about me," Gul added.
