Hamas said on Thursday that it will pay compansate to Gazans for their loss in the Israeli massive offfensive.

The delegation included Dr Usama Al-Mazini, Dr Zuhdi Abu Ne'meh, Dr Subhi Al-Yazgi and several figures. The officials visited the Ar-Rayyes area and At-Tufah neighborhood to consol residents for their losses during the recent three-week war, reported Maan News Agency.

The officials promised to compensate locals for their losses.

Hamas government would pay €1 000 each to the families of the dead and €4 000 for each home destroyed in Israel's assault on Gaza.

The compensation awards would include €500 for each person wounded and €2 000 for families whose houses were damaged, spokesman Taher Al-Nunu said.

Some 4 000 homes were razed and 17 000 damaged, according to the Palestinian Authority.

A Hamas official, Abu Ne'meh, praised the steadfastness of Gazans, assuring that the destruction "will not break people's will."

Gazans especially, from the Al-Jarou family who lost dozens of houses and family members, talked about their steadfastness in the face of the Israeli assault. They said they are "committed to the resistance and to Palestine and will never kneel before Israel's will.

Meanwhile In a televised speech from Damascus, Mash'al asked Arab states to send reconstruction funds to the Hamas-run government in Gaza led by Prime Minster Ismail Haniyeh. He also called for the Gaza Strip's borders to be reopened.

"We are fully responsible for our people in Gaza and Hamas will be working in two ways: the first will be recovering the causalities and providing shelter for the homeless and the other will be by rebuilding the Gaza Strip and all the demolished houses," he said.
