Turkey's IHH said sent food aid to Chechen families living under hard conditions in Turkey during the Ramadan month.

IHH, Humantarian Relief Foundation said in a statement, "We made food aid to 108 Chechen refugee families living in Beykoz, Umraniye and Fenerbahce refugee camps and 230 Chechen families residing in different districts of Istanbul and Yalova."



IHH said "its teams visited the Chechen refugees one by one, distributed the families food and meat packets. So the needs of the refugee families were met for Ramadan."

"Chechen refugees constitues the majority of the refugees in Turkey that IHH gives support", the aid group said.



The foundation says it is continuing various aid campaigns for Chechen refugees during the year.

"In different times of the year, the families living in the camps are distributed food and meat. The health problems of the Chechen refugees are solved in cooperation with the health foundations arranged by agreement and their medial needs are met," IHH said.



The relief foundation said also supplied rent aid for widows and disabled Chechen refugees. 1The travel expenses of the refugee families who want to return back to their countries are met," the group said.

A group of concerned people individually formed IHH in response to attempt to ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Bosnia, largest genocide committed after the World War II.

Since then, IHH volunteers keeps aid missions throughout the world.
