Imams to study religious dialogue in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has decided to conduct special courses on interreligious dialogue for the 40,000 imams in the country's mosques.

According to a report in the Arab newspaper al-Sharq al-Awsat, the theme of the course will be the culture of dialogue and the value of contacts.

It will be organised the King Abdulaziz Centre for National Dialogue in conjunction with the Saudi ministry of Islamic affairs.

It is part of the country's education programme for religious leaders introduced when national dialogue was launched by King Abdullah in 2003.
