An Indonesian military plane with 18 people on board, including three foreigners, went missing on Thursday and is thought to have crashed in West Java, an air force spokesman said on Friday.
"We lost contact with the plane. We assume it crashed but we are still searching for it," said Chaerudin Ray.
The plane was flying from the capital Jakarta to Bogor, in West Java, with 12 military personnel and six civilians on board, he said, including one Briton, one Singaporean, and one person thought to be Indian.
The plane had set out to test a digital mapping camera, he said. Indonesian air carriers have been hit by several crashes and safety incidents in recent years, and the country's airlines are currently banned by the European Union.
