Iran's chief atomic negotiator Saeed Jalili and European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana agreed to continue nuclear talks in a telephone conversation on Monday, Iran's state television reported.
"Jalili ... and Solana agreed that the two sides' negotiations continue in a constructive atmosphere," the television report said. "The two sides insisted on the continuation of talks."
Iran's government spokesman said on Sunday that the country would not change its nuclear stance in the face of new sanctions.
