Foreign Minister Manouchehr Motaki of Iran has arrived in Ankara on an official visit.
Motaki said after his arrival that Iran aimed at further improving its relations with Turkey. He said that he came to Turkey in an effort to deepen Turkey-Iran relations.
He said that the bilateral relations and regional developments would be high on agenda of his talks with Turkish authorities.
Motaki added that some important political and economic steps would be taken by the two countries soon.
Iranian foreign minister is set to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan later in the day. Motaki will hold talks with President Abdullah Gul and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Wednesday.
Motaki will also attend the 21st meeting of Turkey-Iran Joint Economic Commission as part of his visit.
