Iran's Larijani to visit Turkey for OIC's Gaza meeting

Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is to take part in the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union emergency meeting in Turkey on Wednesday to discuss Gaza ceasefire. Iranian ISNA news agency reported.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan called for emergency OIC meeting.

The report said "Larijani who has just returned home after his tour to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan said the troika of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) involving Parliament Speakers of Iran, Syria and Indonesia decided to have a tour to regional states to inform them of its decisions on Gaza subject."

"Having held a meeting in Damascus, the troika delegation agreed any Asian country willing to help Palestinians can determine a quota for its humanitarian aids to Gazans", he told reporters at the airport.

Larijani also expressed satisfaction over his visits with Lebanese officials and said during the meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, they have signed two letters written for the European Parliament and the United Nations over Gaza.

Israeli attacks over Gaza Strip have left over 900 Palestinians dead and wounded more than 4000 in defiance to the UN Security Council resolution calling for urgent ceasefire in Gaza.
